7th Annual Lilac Lane Memorial Park Event

& The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society's Open House
Saturday, May 26, 2007

The Delaware Country Historical Association (DCHA) and The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society (HCHS)  cordially invite you and your pets to the " 7th Annual Lilac Lane Memorial Park Event," Saturday, May 26, 2007, 1 PM at DCHA.  Birgitta Brophy, registered Landscape Architect will give a presentation entitled "Seven Years and 100 plus Lilacs Later:  How Lilac Lane Pet Memorial Park was Designed and Planted."  And a table top exhibit of Special Pet Testimonials will be on display in the Norris Gallery.  Stroll Lilac Lane with your pets, or the special guest pets from HCHS.  Afterward visit The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society's Open House from 12 PM - 4 PM.  Light refreshments will be available at both the DCHA and HCHS.  RSVP is appreciated but not required by May 25, 2007.  Please call DCHA at (607) 746-3849 or e-mail dcha@delhi.net.

Dog Obedience Training Classes - Seven weeks of Classes
Starts June 6th, 2007

In collaboration with the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society, Animal Haven and Jan Newcomer, CPDT run weekly group training classes for dog owners in the community. All dogs are taught using positive, reward-based training. Our goal is to teach the skills necessary to create lifelong companions in a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. To register or get a class schedule please call Heart of the Catskills Humane Society. Classes are offered again on August 8th and on October 3rd.

Over the Top Tabletops
Friday, June 15, 5 PM - 7 PM & Saturday, June 16th, 6:30 PM

HCHS was invited and has accepted to participate in the Roxbury Arts Group (RAG) "OVER THE TOP TABLETOPS" fundraising event.  Headed up by Laura O'Connor (HCHS Director) and Dale Trethaway (HCHS volunteer), with the assistance of Dorothy Maffei of Home Goods of Margaretville, Rebecca Welz, Jen Truitt, Rhonda Bevins and Deb Crute will design and set up a table that truly represents the work of The Heart of the Catskills Humane Society. 
It is a small way that HCHS can thank the many local artists that have so generously supported our work and who have adopted many of our shelter's homeless cats and dogs!  You can join us by viewing the HCHS' table and many others on Friday, June 15, 5 PM - 7 PM or you can join in the main RAG fundraising event Saturday, June 16th, 6:30 PM.  For all the details please call 607-326-7908 or e-mail officemgr@roxburyartsgroup.org and visit their websaite at www.roxburyartsgroup.org.

5th Annual Woofs n' Wags Dog Walk & Fair

This year's theme: "The Last Dog Days of Summer Country BARK-B-Q & Jamboree!
Join us for a day of fun-filled activities like doggie square dancing, horseshoe relay races,  a picnic with barbeque hamburgers & hotdogs,and live country music! Annual Meeting of the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society

You are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society. This is an opportunity to hear about theaccomplishments made in the 2006 – 2007 fiscal year and about the challenges and goals for the next year. The presentation will run about an hour with a half hour allowed for discussion. Light refreshments will be served. Please join us!

Adoption Clinic & Fundraiser

Rte 23 in Grand Gorge, Tracey Mattice, Proprietor is holding an adoption clinic and fundraiser to benefit the homeless cats and dogs at HCHS. Meet some of the adoptable cats and dogs looking for “forever” homes. Learn about the work HCHS does to help the homeless cats and dogs of our community. Bring a donation from our “wish list” on our web-site.

Pizzas for Paws - Eat for a Good Cause!
Friday, November 2nd

Stop by the Hess Express on Delaware Street in Walton for lunch or dinner and dessert!  Hess will donate $1 to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society for every pizza purchased that day.  Volunteers will also be on site from 4pm-9 pm selling donated baked goods to benefit the homeless cats and dogs of Delaware County.
