Heart of the Catskills Humane Society Shelter Scoop

Politeness the Cat
Help Wanted
PetSmart Adoption Center
Kingston, New York

Have a soft spot for cats? Enjoy speaking with people? Have a little extra time to spare? Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and clean?

Here are two ways you can join the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society team to help us care for the homeless cats waiting to find their “forever” home:

>> HCHS is looking for part-time and/or “on-call” employees to assist at the PetSmart Adoption Clinic. 8 hours per week are currently available with potential for more.

>> We are ready to welcome volunteers to help us keep the Center open during our “cat naps” 2pm – 4pm, Monday through Friday. We could use your help to socialize the cats, help with cleaning and speak with customers while our employees take a well earned break.

Peak the CatAll Volunteers and Employees will be required to go through orientation and training.

Please call Christina at 845-901-6115, Thursday through Sunday, for more information.

Help Us Save Energy Energy Saving Lightbulbat the Shelter!

We need your help…

In an effort to conserve energy and save on electric costs, we are replacing our current light bulbs with energy efficient bulbs. We need a total of 30, 75-watt efficiency bulbs which is quite costly. A donation of a bulb(s) would help tremendously. Your donation can be dropped off at the shelter in Delhi, Now and Then Video in Margaretville and the PetSmart Adoption Center in Kingston. For more information, please call Deb Crute, Director of Shelter Operations at 607-746-3080. Thank you!

Featured Shelter Scoop Beauty

Tosha the DogTosha is a total couch potato and that would be a "sweet" potato! She was brought to the shelter along with eight cats when her guardian of 7 years became seriously ill and had to re-locate to get the treatment needed.

Find out more about Tosha in her Petfinder Profile.
